Franlin

Benjamin Franklin,

I have heard through some of my esteemed sources that you claim to be one of pioneers in our day. Well, I tell you that you don’t know what you are getting into. I, being a founding father, and making an astounding number of accomplishments myself, want you to stop boasting about your many achievements. That being said, you need to understand how I, after looking at your record, was quit impressed with you; otherwise I wouldn't be honoring you with this letter, of course. That aside, you seem to have created quite an impressive resume and I would like to discuss it over tea on Tuesday. Thanks for slotting me in. Although, I have had a few mis-givings with a few friends of mine about your discoveries.

Your accomplishments, and them not being mine and all, they couldn’t be possibly all correct. Like I said though, come over on Tuesday the 27th and we will have some tea and discuss your latest achievements. I know that you have heard of mine, I made the lighting rod, and did much work to get a democracy going here.

No need to talk to me further, and I am not going to spend more time writing, I expect you Monday.

Yourself, Ben Franklin

Propaganda Essay

In this essay, I have decided to pull a move in which I separate myself from the other essays of this kind, I am trying to show a side of the story which we seemed to have forgotten. The side of the Indians that are still living in the US when the revolution occurred. Were they for the war or against it? Or, both?

To Samuel Adams

Well, colonists you have to make a choice, do you want to go to war or not? I know that you don’t want us as part of your “family” feud; but we are living on this continent too. So our two furs on this is, you should go to war, and break away from england. Why? Look at all of your torments by the british!
We as the League have been through many wars with your kind and you fighting styles, we also know how they have subjugated you. They demand that you respect this one figure that has more authority then you. We know how that feels, for someone to try and push you down into submission for someone else, the question we asked you then and will ask you again is, where is he? You and I know the answer to that question, he is a few months journey away! Why are you as citizens in a different land still listening to some person who you don’t see, and seems to be in the cloud? How has he helped you? He has told you to come over and take these lands, which, how did that end for you? It ended by more taxes, and replacing the money system you made with the more expensive one.
Also, this king is asking for all sorts of high taxes of cargo that is cheap in England. So, I say that you get some people rallied up and go attack one of the british cargo boats and dump the contents into the sea, while dressed like an Indian. You will get their attention that way and you can try to end the war as quickly as you can!

The League

To The Honorable King George

Transcribed by NATA DICHALI for use in the english language.

My honorable king, thank you for the superb gifts, I am deeply honored for all of the weapons, and land grants. I have just written a letter to the patriots, and they seem to be holding back on the war. Maybe you could send more troops over to secure the peace and keep them from fighting. At the moment they aren’t doing so bad with the taxes, you probably could get more out of them if you wanted. Nice maneuver with the money system, you must have made a good amount of money out of that.
The League

As you said: Officially we are NOT to work together. Unofficially, it is nice working with you.

To Reviewers....

For those of you who actually are going to review my essays, not skip them for sake of getting quiz grades, I would recommend you read my PERSIA essay, (the really fancy one). Other than that, read as you please; but please note, the latest 3 essays all were written within seven hours in an effort to re-do them after losing them in a stupid mistake (i.e. - wiping my hard drive without backing them up..)

(A sub note to Mr. Viles from my first essay that I stumbled upon, which still holds true.)
---------- Sub-note -------------
By the way Mr.Viles..... Google is now becoming the ultimate Beta machine, Beta this Beta that, when will something come out of Beta that is useful? Google! Take some responsibility of what you have made and provide support!

The only things that are holding me back from all online based work are;

1.) BETA everything!!!!! Once things are out of Beta I will use them more!
2.) They are horrible compared to the desktop based programs.
3.) Once offline, you can't get access to anything.
4.) IT WON'T WORK ON THE IPHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mid-Term

The trend of western history is to cultivate faith, avoid dogma, listen and watch well, looking at end to better decide means. I will walk through each point and prove it. I also prove my thought on the word at the end. In the end you will find yourself leaning toward saying yes, the trend of western history is a Landers states.

Is the trend of Western History to cultivate a skeptical faith, avoid dogma, listen and watch well, to try to look at ends to better chose means? Yes, yes that is the dominate trend. Faith is not as publicly dictative as it used to be, many people don’t consider what religious repercussions occur when shopping at one store over another. Dogma; was thrown out of the window when the democracy came in, if enough people agree to abolish a law, they send in a petition and out goes the law. Then you look at the commercials and advertising; in the business world it is all advertising and profit. Businesses are all trying to get you to listen to them, and that is what you do, listen and find the best deal. Looking to ends to better determine the way to get there. Wether driving a car or opening a store you do it everyday.
Faith. Centuries ago in Italy, as shown in Medici Money, the typical public decisions are based off of what will happen to my soul if I do this, or don’t do that. The banks wanted to make money, usually by interest. But, back in that time collecting interest was considered usury and was a horrible sin. In the U.S. on the other hand, banks don’t even think twice about assigning a variable rate to a loan claiming that it can be lower than constant rate. In truth, the variable rate can change at the bank will, when the bank isn’t doing well, or when the bank is well off. Now because of the separation of Church and State, religion has become something personal and you are no longer pressured into any religion. Wether that is good or not is for you to decide, but because of that, western culture has cultivated a skeptical religious state.
When dogma is considered, it can to equated to a monarchy rule. It can also be viewed as what the church was back in Rome. A group that dictates rules that were decided in the name of God. When the democracy was created in America dogma was thrown out of the window; yes there are laws, but laws are not cemented in stone. Appeals can be made, contradicting laws formed, or election of officials with opposite opinions can be done. So dogma is being abolished.
Listening and watching well can lead to better business opportunities, and when working with many opportunities, you need to listen to everything going of around you. For example, in the World is Flat, a great example emerges. Friedman talks about how he used to buy tickets for an airplane, arriving at the airport nice and early the morning of the flight to make sure he got a good seat. But, one time he discovered that even though he arrived early enough to get a good seat he was still stuck with a middle class seat. He later discovered that you could now go online and buy the ticket from home. Many people in our culture have their eyes on the movement of technology. They are constantly watching for new technology to arrive and when it hits, they start working with it.
Finally working with projections and predictions of the future people want to find means to get there. For example, when you are driving a car you want to project and say, I want to get to the closest Apple Store. Now how to I get there? You can start by using google maps, then formulating the path by which you want to approach. Same thing with business, a CEO will say this is where we want to go. How to we get there? Then comes in the planing and progress report. This is the way that the US works.
The trend of Western History is to cultivate a skeptical faith, as shown by the decrease of publicly religious blocks. It is also to avoid dogma by the creation of the democratic system. The public now watches, listens, and evaluates decisions for the betterment of themselves. Then you have predictions and projections that come with the effect of working with the means. The only disagreement that comes from this, is, the trend of western culture is now spreading into the eastern culture. China and Japan now are using the same lines like the western businesses are.
